Three people have been found dead at an apartment complex in Dallas, Texas, after police were shot at while responding to a call.

Officers arrived at an active shooter call in the 9800 block of Summerwood Circle at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dallas Police said.

When officers approached the apartment, shots were fired which hit a marked police car, Dallas News reports. A SWAT team was then called to the scene, who made several attempts to get the suspect to surrender, police said.

The SWAT officers eventually entered the apartment at about 7 p.m. and found two women and one man dead from gunshot wounds.

Dallas Police said their officers did not fire their weapons during the standoff and no officers were injured.

Police did not say what happened to the shooter, or if they were one of the people found dead inside, reported Fox 4.

The investigation is ongoing. Dallas Police have been contacted for an update.

There have been a number of violent incidents that occurred in Dallas over the weekend.

On Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 12:09 a.m., Dallas police responded to 131 W. Elmore Avenue regarding a shooting call.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, Fredy Bonilla, a 26-year old male, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the groin area. Bonilla was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.

Suspect Angel Aristeo Badillo, 29, was later arrested on suspicion shooting Bonilla. Badillo was transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with murder.

Shortly after the first shooting, police responded to a separate stabbing at around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Al Lipscomb Way and Jeffries Street.

Police said that a 58-year-old man was washing cars and pumping gas for vehicles at a nearby gas station when a person began arguing with him over “territory for servicing cars,” reported WFAA.

The pair then began fighting and at one point the second man pulled out a knife, stabbing the 58-year-old in the chest before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered a large laceration to his chest during the physical altercation. Police said the suspect is still at large.

Dallas Police later responded to another shooting at the 13800 block of Brookgreen Drive at around 2:20 a.m. Police believe the shooting which left one victim suffering a gun wound to the back may have been gang-related.
