There have been a number of violent incidents that occurred in Dallas over the weekend.
On Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 12:09 a.m., Dallas police responded to 131 W. Elmore Avenue regarding a shooting call.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim, Fredy Bonilla, a 26-year old male, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the groin area. Bonilla was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
Suspect Angel Aristeo Badillo, 29, was later arrested on suspicion shooting Bonilla. Badillo was transported to the Dallas County Jail and charged with murder.
Shortly after the first shooting, police responded to a separate stabbing at around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Al Lipscomb Way and Jeffries Street.
Police said that a 58-year-old man was washing cars and pumping gas for vehicles at a nearby gas station when a person began arguing with him over “territory for servicing cars,” reported WFAA.
The pair then began fighting and at one point the second man pulled out a knife, stabbing the 58-year-old in the chest before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered a large laceration to his chest during the physical altercation. Police said the suspect is still at large.
Dallas Police later responded to another shooting at the 13800 block of Brookgreen Drive at around 2:20 a.m. Police believe the shooting which left one victim suffering a gun wound to the back may have been gang-related.
